R&B天王Usher（亞瑟小子）
據美國媒體報道，R&B小天王Usher（亞瑟小子）以五項提名領跑Soul Train Awards（靈魂列車音樂獎）。Soul Train Awards在音樂界被稱為“黑人格萊美音樂獎”，去年Chris Brown（克里斯-布朗）曾以五項提名領跑該獎。
在本屆提名中，Usher獲得了年度歌曲和專輯獎、最佳R&B男歌手、阿什福德和辛普森歌曲創作人獎以及最佳舞蹈表演獎幾項提名。
除了Usher外，Nas、Trey Songz、John Legend、Estelle均獲得了多項提名，R. Kelly 還成為有史以來獲得靈魂列車音樂獎最多次提名的藝人，他共獲得過21次提名。
此外，悲劇辭世的兩位女歌手Whitney Houston（惠特尼-休斯頓）和 Amy Winehouse （艾米-懷恩豪斯）分別獲得了最具靈感表演獎和最佳國際表演獎，老牌男子團體 New Edition 將在本屆靈魂列車音樂獎的頒獎禮上被授予終身成就獎。
